BDS Payment Seat Fees – 8 Lakhs Total Package Including Everything

Most of the readers of this article will be dental aspirants who want to join the best dental colleges in India but who are a bit confused about the fee structure of each dental college.

Before I just dive deep into the topic, I would like to welcome you all to one of the best dental blogs in the world, DentalFry. We used to update the latest updates in dentistry and also guide students in choosing the best dental colleges in India and abroad.

Important:
Many students and parents have the concept that, to take the BDS payment seat in India, they don’t have to qualify for the NEET-UG entrance exam.
It is 100% mandatory to qualify for NEET-UG to take admission to any of the dental colleges in India.
Even for admission through management or NRI quota, the student must qualify for NEET.

BDS Payment Seat Fees

In this article, I will be giving you an idea about the payment of seat fees for BDS in India. The fees for payment seats differ in each state and college depending upon the quality and location of the dental college.

BDS course fees in India range from Rs.1.5 lakhs to Rs.7 lakhs per annum, depending on each college. I will divide colleges as private dental colleges and deemed dental colleges and mention the fee structure of the same below.

BDS Payment Seat Fees in Private Dental College – The Best College in Terms of Brand and Quality

If you are looking for the best dental colleges in India with the best education quality and a known dental college, then it will be having an annual fee of around Rs.5 Lakhs to Rs.6 lakhs per annum.

BDS Seat Fees in Pvt Dental College – The Best in Terms of ROI, Affordability, and Quality

These are the type of colleges I would like to choose because you will be getting almost the same education quality as above and the fee structure will be comparatively very low. These types are colleges are not well known among the students as they are not running advertising campaigns spending crores.

These colleges will cost you around Rs.2 lakhs to Rs.3 lakhs per annum, including your hostel and tuition fees.

BDS Seat Fees in Private College – Low-Quality Education and Facilities

These colleges have very low quality in education and infrastructure, and they charge you around Rs.1 lakh to Rs.1.5 lakhs per year, including your hostel and tuition fees. I never recommend these kinds of colleges, as they are of no value.

BDS Course Fees in Deemed Dental College

These are colleges with universities whose counselling is done under the MCC. Their tuition fees range from Rs.4.5 lakhs to Rs.7 lakhs per annum, excluding hostel and food.

If you want the fee structure of all the colleges, then go through my article about the BDS fee structure in deemed dental colleges.

My Personal Suggestion:
I would suggest you go to colleges having a fee structure ranging from Rs.2 Lakhs to Rs.3 Lakhs per annum, including hostel and food.
But never opt for all the colleges in this budget, and keep in mind a few things before joining any dental college in India.
I had given a detailed explanation of how to choose a dental college on a budget.

You can also go through my detailed article about BDS fees in private colleges and BDS management quota fees, too.

Extra Fees Generally Charged by Private Colleges

You have to pay extra for the university exam. There are colleges that also charge extra fees for dental materials, books, and transportation. The students whom I had placed in different colleges, we provide them with pre-clinical dental materials and study materials that will help them in their studies.

How to Choose a Private Dental College?

Before taking admission to any private dental college please do see whether the college has the following things without fail.

Affiliation and Recognition

The college must be affiliated with a reputed university. There are few colleges that are affiliated with Universities that never conduct exams on time, and also, the pass percentage is very low. The Dental Council of India must also recognize the college.

Patient Flow and Exposure

The college must have a decent patient flow and give every student the chance to learn. Patient flow is not only a factor, you must keep in mind the patient exposure too.

There are colleges that boast of having hundreds of patients, but the college doesn’t give a chance to the BDS students to treat the patients. This might be because of a lack of confidence or due to the poor patient-student ratio.

So just enquire how many PG students and UG students are there in the college.

Faculties

I would never say that you must opt for colleges with professors who had passed out from AIIMS or any government dental college. You must choose colleges who are having teachers who are ready to teach you the theory and also support for mentally in treating the patients.

Equipment and Technologies

The college must have the latest equipment and technologies to keep the students updated about the latest techniques in dentistry. I am not saying that you must go and see whether the college has a fancy building and big machinery.

The college must have facilities like CBCT, CAD-CAM, Endodontic microscopes, RVG, OPG, and laser dentistry. Many people will disagree with this, but as per my experience, dentistry is evolving at a higher pace, and you must be ahead of it.

Extra fees and the Management

There are many colleges that charge you extra fees apart from the tuition and hostel fees. So, please clear those with the college before taking admission. Most of the management of private dental colleges will be strict, but see whether the management is student-friendly, too.

You can easily know about it by enquiring in general.

Budget

See whether the college comes within your budget. Everyone will have a financial plan and make sure the college fits into it.
