This is when you have to report to the allotted nodal center/college with all the original documents for physical document verification.

Being physically present at the reporting center is compulsory to confirm your MDS admission.

Here is the tale of the admission procedure in Maharashtra for MDS students!

If you need detailed information about document verification, then you can go through my detailed article about documents required for MDS admission.

MDS Reporting Procedure in Maharashtra

Being prepared for anything can prevent so many unsuitable surprises! So, I have added an account of what you must prepare before going through the document verification process.

The concerned institution will collect all your relevant original certificates/documents. So, prepare photocopies of a minimum of two sets of documents.

Allotted students have to prepare two demand drafts, one for tuition fees and another for other fees, in favor of the Dean/Principal of the concerned institution.

Dental Colleges and MDS Seats in Maharashtra

In Maharastra, there are 38 dental colleges, including government, private, and deemed institutes. There are 929 total MDS seats, including 771 clinical branches and 158 non-clinical branches.

However, MDS admission in the deemed universities of Maharashtra is not administered by the DMER, Mumbai. You must participate in MCC counseling for the same.

I have also added the seat reservation details for Maharashtra’s government—and private dental colleges.

Government/Corporation/Government-Aided Dental Colleges
50% All-India Quota seats50% State Quota (S-Q )seats
15%  (S-Q) – In-service Quota seats
10%  (S-Q ) – EWS Quota seats
Unaided Private and Minority Dental Colleges
50% State CET cell Quota seats50% Institutional quota seats including NRI quota seats.

MDS Fees in Maharashtra

The fee structure is crucial when deciding the MDS college and specialty. In Maharastra, I have observed that the state quota fee for all branches is less than that of institutional or management quota seats. In fact, both the management fees were charged twice, and the NRI category was charged three times the state quota fee.

Below is the category-wise average fee structure for MDS in Maharashtra.
