MDS Course Fees in Bangalore – Read It Twice to Understand

In this section, I will give you an idea about the basics of MDS fees in Bangalore.

Firs thing you must keep in mind is that you have to attend counseling conducted by the Karnataka State Authority, KEA, for taking admission to the MDS course in Bangalore.

Every state takes admission through centralized counseling conducted by their respective authorities. And the deemed colleges, the NEET PG Dental counseling is conducted by MCC.

That means, every state has different rules, fee structures, and quotas.

In Bangalore or any college in Karnataka, there are mainly three types of fee structures:

  • G Quota – Rs.3.5 lakhs per year.
  • P Quota – Rs.6.8 lakhs per year.
  • Q/NRI Quota – Ranging from Rs.11 lakhs to Rs.20 lakhs per annum depending on branches and colleges.

First I will list the fee structure which is fixed by the KEA and later explain how to get management MDS seats in Bangalore at lower fees.

These are the officially fixed fees for each college under different quotas.

If you need the fees of all colleges, then you can go through my detailed article about, the KEA MDS Fee structure.

As you know there will be only very few seats in each college for MDS, due to the high fees in counseling the seats might go vacant.

These vacant seats will later be converted to management seats, which we can have a word with the college and negotiate. 😛

How Much Can We Negotiate?

It’s not predictable, as it completely depends on the number of vacant seats and demand. If there is a high demand then the management won’t reduce the fees.

But still, I can help you in negotiation, as we have a long-term connection with these colleges.

Still, an approximate range of fees for MDS for each department in Bangalore is given below.

  • Endo & Ortho: Rs.12 lakhs to Rs.15 lakhs per year.
  • Surgery: Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs.13 lakhs per year.
  • Prosthodontics: Rs.8 lakhs to Rs.10 lakhs per year.
  • Pedodontics: Rs.6 lakhs to Rs.8 lakhs per year.
  • Perio: Rs.4 to Rs.5 lakhs per year.
  • OMR and Community: Rs.3 lakhs to Rs.4 lakhs per year.
  • OP: Rs.2 lakhs to Rs.3 lakhs per year.

These are the tuition fees and you can expect extra fees for materials, hostel, and food.

You are looking for MDS admission at lower fees? Then if you are ready to migrate to other states, I can provide you same quality college with great patient exposure at a very low fee.

If you are looking for MDS anywhere in Karnataka, then you can go through my article about MDS fee structure in Karnataka.

MDS Admission Process in Bangalore

There are 16 dental colleges in Bangalore and to take MDS admission to any of these colleges you must attend the counseling conducted by KEA.

There are a few steps for the complete procedure and I will just mention the steps in short below.

Step 1: Registration

The candidate must register for the counseling through the official website by paying registration fees.

Step 2: Document Verification

KEA will announce the dates for verification and you must be present in the verification center with all your original documents. After verifying you will be provided with a verification slip. This can be online or offline, depending completely on KEA.

Step 3: Round 1

Once documents are verified you must opt for the college and department you are interested in. It is called choice-filling.

Step 4: Round 2

If you have not been allotted a seat in the first round you can attend the second round and choose the college choices available.

Step 5: MOP-UP Round

The seats that are vacant after the 2nd round of counseling will be allotted through the MOP-UP round. The MOP-UP round will be conducted offline and you must be present at the counseling center in Bangalore.

Step 6: Stray Vacancy

The seats that are vacant after the MOP-UP round are converted to management seats and the management has the right to take the admission directly. However, only the candidates who have registered in the KEA counseling can be admitted.

These are the very basic things you must know about MDS counseling for admission to Bangalore.

MDS College Choosing Checklist

Before choosing any dental college, please go through the checklist. This will help you in filtering college to an extent.

I had seen many students who stick to taking admission only in Bangalore, because of the location. They are even ready to spend lakhs if the college quality is low, but is in Bangalore city.

These are a few things, that I will suggest my students keep in mind while choosing a dental college for MDS in Bangalore.

  1. Patient Flow: A decent patient flow, will give you sufficient experience in learning better.
  2. Faculty: Even if you have a lot of patient, but the faculty is not good enough – then there is meaning. So, enquire about the faculties in the department of the college you want to choose.
  3. No. of PG’s: There are a few colleges in Bangalore, that have 8-9 seats for each batch. That means there are around 24-27 students in one department waiting for patients. And you know what it is going to be.
  4. Affordability: See whether you are able to afford it and also clearly enquire whether there are any hidden charges.

All the private colleges in Karnataka, charge material fees which range from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.1.5 lakhs per annum.
