Most government dental universities charge the same tuition for all branches, in contrast to private dental colleges. Plus, MDS in all branches doesn’t need to be available in every college; the matrix varies from college to college.

A Note: MDS  Extra Fees In Government College

In the above table, I have only added the annual tuition fees of the MDS course in government colleges. Although the charges are affordable, these colleges also have extra charges like university fees, caution deposits, library changes, student funds developmental fees, etc.

This amount might range from Rs.15,000/-  to 30,000/- in government dental colleges. The range is wide because it varies from state to state.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the MDS stipend at government colleges?

The MDS stipend in government colleges depends on the college you are admitted to. The stipend might range between Rs.30,000/- and 90,000/- per month. In certain colleges, the stipend is also increased every year.

How do I get admission to MDS at a government college?

MDS admission in a government college is possible only through the NEET MDS entrance exam. You have to be qualified and also hold a very high rank for MDS allotment. You can then participate in the all-India counseling or the state counseling of your respective states. The AIQ seats are included under the MCCI through their website, https://mcc.nic.in while the state quota seats are filled through the relevant state counseling through their own admission websites.

How can I apply for the AIQ government seats for MDS?

To apply for MDS enrollment in the AIQ government seats, you have to register for the online counseling process on the website https://mcc.nic.in . However, you will only get an allotment if you have a high rank.

How many MDS government seats are there in AIQ counseling?

There are 392 MDS government seats in the All-India Quota Seat Matrix, including all branches. However, the state quota seats are not included in these categories.

Conclusion

Aspiring for a government MDS seat is usual, but only high-rankers achieve this goal. The struggle is hard, but trying once is worth it! It is not just the fees that attract them, but who will deny a handsome stipend every month?

However, despite the many advantages available, you don’t need to get the expected exposure in every government college. So, before joining anywhere, research the specifics about the institute before you attempt the counseling.
