BDS Fees Without NEET – Everything You Want to Know

I just want to answer this question in a very simple way. Many students have this question in mind, is it possible to get BDS admission without NEET? If yes, what will be the BDS fees without NEET?

Simple Answer:

There are dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh that will offer you BDS for fees ranging from Rs.8 lakhs to Rs.22 lakhs for the entire course.
You will be attracted to the low fees and be admitted to these colleges. But there is a problem with it. You must opt for NAAC-accredited dental colleges only if you don’t want to waste your time.

It is not possible to take BDS admission without NEET. Yes, let it be in any state or dental college in India. Let it be management or NRI quota seats, the student must qualify NEET entrance exam.

I know this disappoints a lot of students. But there is a small catch or information that most of the students or parents don’t know.

In case there is a high number of seats vacant in colleges, then there are chances that the NEET qualifying cut-off might come down. But the hope is only for students who missed the qualification marks just by a small percentage.

Think the qualifying mark is 150 and you had scored somewhere around 135 or above, then there is a slight chance you might qualify during the revised cut-off.

But these are just chances…

In case you are qualified after the revised cut-off, then the fee structure will be the same as other students’ fees.

If you have not qualified for NEET, then you can join courses like BHMS or BNYS without NEET.

In the coming section, I will be explaining about BDS fee structure without NEET.

BDS Fees Without NEET / With NEET

Yes, the fee structure for BDS is the same if the candidate is qualified in the first round or even after the revised cut-off. If you are a regular reader of my blog you might have gone through my detailed post about the BDS fee structure in private colleges.

If not, I will provide you with a general idea about the fee structure.

Let it be BDS management quota fees, BDS payment seat fees, or any other quota that is in a private dental college. All these fee structures will be the same.

Basic BDS Fees in India

The basic fee structure for BDS without NEET or with NEET ranges from Rs.8 lakhs to Rs.30 lakhs for the entire course which includes the tuition fees, hostel, food, and extra fees.

But, the colleges I support, I won’t suggest which costs more than 12-13 lakhs for the entire course. Let it be like the total course cost is Rs.8 lakhs, then the candidate must pay it as below:

  • First-year: Rs.2 lakhs.
  • Second year: Rs.2 lakhs.
  • Third year: Rs.2 lakhs.
  • Fourth-year: Rs.2 lakhs.
  • Fifth year: No tuition fees as it is an internship, but it has to pay for the food and accommodation.

The reason I choose mid-range fees colleges is that many colleges provide the same facilities and academics as the colleges that charge Rs.30 lakhs for the entire course. Apart from that I also keep in mind the Return on Investment or ROI and the average monthly salary of a dentist.

Dentalfry has got readers from almost every corner of India. In case if you are looking for fees for BDS in different states, you can go through the following articles I wrote:

The Cut-Off Didn’t Revise: What to Do?

There are chances that the cut-off won’t be revised. In that case, I don’t want you to lose a year or keep a bad hope. There are only two options in that scenario:

  • You can choose other courses that have scopes like BHMS, BNYS, or any other course that you are interested in.
  • You have to take a drop year, which I don’t promote much. You can drop only if you are that passionate about a course.

    • Dear Ranjita,

The qualification marks is not 50%, its 50 percentile. If you are not securing the minimum qualification marks then its not possible to take admission for BDS.

    • Dear Ishfaq,

It is not possible to take BDS admission without NEET. You have to either wait for the revised cut off or have to try next academic session.
