Commonly, this is known as submission of willingness in Punjab NEET counselling. You have to pay a security deposit fee, which is compulsory, before the choice filling round.

However, this amount is refundable after the completion of the counseling process in the state.

As you plan for your dental admission, make it a priority to educate yourselves on the eligibility criteria concerning the state of interest. This is because you can only take admission after you fulfill their specific eligibility clauses.

  1. Age Limit: You must be 17 years of age as of December 31, 2024, for BDS admission.
  2. Educational Qualifications: PCB aggregate marks in their class 12 exams for general and reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) are 50% and 45% marks, respectively. You must also obtain a pass mark in English on your 12th board.

BDS Extra Fees in Punjab-Must Read!

My resources and survey with the students studying in Punjab have also revealed that there are certain extra fees during the BDS course. Usually, before admission, students aren’t aware of or overlook the extra expenses during the BDS study.

So, it would help if you didn’t end up distressed after admission. Instead, we suggest you plan for the additional charges along with the tuition fee to avoid any jolts!

Apart from the tuition fee, there is an annual sum of Rs.15,000/- to Rs.30,000/- as miscellaneous college charges and around Rs.75,000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- for hostel and food. So, plan your budget accordingly to avoid any stumbling blocks in your BDS journey!

Conclusion

Punjab has been a stepping stone for many dentists till now! The commendable number of dental colleges in the state harbour students of different races and ethnicities. Our research also highlighted the fact that the region is comfortable and surrounded by people with great hospitality.

When I visited these institutes personally, I saw some wonderful colleges offering excellent education to BDS students. Communication also seemed good to most of the colleges. However, not all colleges in one state can be outstanding! If there are smooth roads, there will be potholes too.

In that case, if you are looking for accurate information regarding BDS or any dental college in Punjab, you can look out for us! 😀 We have been guiding BDS students for a long time in Punjab and have helped many students score some great scholarships as well. So, feel free to contact us; we would be happy to help, too!
