Subbaiah Dental College is a part of Tadikela Subbaiah Trust, Shimoga, Karnataka, India. The trust was formed in the year 2003 by Sri T. Subbaramaiah. The college offers courses in Medical, Dental, and Nursing. The dental college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The Chairman is Hon. Sri. T. Subbaramaiah.
It is recognized by the Dental Council of India. It has also received the essentiality certificate from the Medical and Health Education Department.
Attached to the dental college, there is a multispecialty hospital called Subbaiah Medical College with a capacity of 1100 beds.

The Bachelor Of Dental Surgery (BDS) course is 4 years of academics plus 1 year of mandatory rotatory internship. The Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) course is a 3-year course. MDS is available in these departments namely:

FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE

The lecture halls are fully air-conditioned with a seating capacity of 120 students. The lecture halls have LCD Projectors also connected to an audio system. The seminar and the demo rooms are also equipped with audio and visual assistance.
Subbaiah Central Library is an excellent library with a huge area and fine infrastructure. There are several reference books, journals, textbooks, and articles stored for the students and faculty members to access. There is also a digital library with 50 computers for the dental and medical students.
The college library also has a subscription to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences Consortium. All the departments have their respective departmental libraries with sufficient textbooks and reference books. The library is open from 9 am to 11 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 4 pm on weekends.

Subbaiah Dental Hospital has laboratories and museums in place for future reference. The specimens in the museums help immensely with utilitarian information for the students. The museums are periodically upgraded with the latest specimen collection. The laboratories are solely used by students to conduct experiments.
Subbaiah Dental College and Hospital has a well-furnished food court located on campus which serves good and hygienic food at affordable prices. The cafeteria accommodates 400 students. Separate kitchens are there for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
The college campus also has staff quarters which are two-bedroom flats with all the required facilities. Television, solar hot water facility, telephone services, 24-hour water and electricity supply are also available making the stay convenient and comfortable.
The college also has well-built playgrounds to encourage students to engage in various sports activities which in turn keeps one’s mind and body healthy. A certified physical trainer has also been appointed to look after the extracurricular activities of the students.
There is an Anti-Ragging committee and an Anti-Ragging squad in force that strictly follows the guidelines laid by the Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Dental Colleges/Institutions Regulations, 2009 as notified by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
