Courses Offered

A mandatory internship takes place throughout the fourth year of the BDS degree. Only upon the completion of their competitive internship year will the student receive their BDS degree.

The second year of the course introduces students to pre-clinical laboratories; the first two years of the course are entirely classroom and knowledge-based instruction and training. In years three and four, students receive both academic and clinical instruction. During the first two years of the course, subjects including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, dental materials, dental histology, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology, pre-clinical conservative medicine, and prosthodontics are covered.

The subjects studied in the third year include general surgery, oral pathology, and general medicine. The final year of school offers courses specifically related to dentistry, such as oral medicine radiography, prosthodontics, periodontics, and pedodontics among others. The eligibility criteria for BDS are: 

  • The candidates must pass the 10+2 examination.
  • The candidates must obtain qualifying marks in the NEET-UG entrance examination.

The duration of MDS is three years. MDS entails specialized coursework and hands-on training that is solely directed toward the department of choice. The eligibility criteria are:

  • They have to be graduates of a dental college with accreditation that offers the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree.
