SB Patil Dental College and Hospital was established in the year 1991 under the leadership of Chairman Dr. Suryakanth G. Patil. The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, and is recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
