The Rifahul Muslimeen Educational Trust came into being in the year 1961 and was registered under the Indian Trust Act, of 1956. The trust came into force with the sole purpose of promoting education to the Minority Muslim Community in particular and also to the other underprivileged section of people in Mysore in general.  Rifahul Muslimeen Education Trust, Mysore was granted permission to start the BDS program at Farooqia Dental College, Mysore.

By the Government of Karnataka. This college came into existence to offer services to society with the help of high-skilled professionals in Dentistry. The rural and urban population of the city of Mysore is also provided with preventive care of dentistry so that major issues in oral health become less persistent.

The BDS course is 4 years and 1 year of mandatory internship. The BDS degree is awarded only after the completion of the internship. The candidates must qualify for the NEET-UG examination to be able to apply for the admission process.

The MDS program is for 3 years. The MDS course is available in the following departments :

There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Each hostel room is fully furnished. A hot water facility is also available in the common washrooms in each hostel. The hostel gates are guarded by security guards providing full-time surveillance.

The dental college has a hospital attached to cater to all the healthcare needs of the students. The health center also has a first-aid facility for the students at any time. A blood bank is also there in the hospital to help the students and people.

The college also has sports facilities in the form of grounds for cricket, basketball, football and volleyball. They also have indoor games like table tennis, chess, and carom.

The Library is one of the most important parts of this academic institution. Its objective is to cater to the educational and information needs of the students. They do so by providing access to numerous textbooks, journals, and research articles. The main aim of the library is to give students a chance to gain more and more knowledge.

The college also has a brilliant I.T. facility for its students. There is also a canteen on campus open for both students and faculty members. It offers healthy food at reasonable prices.
