Agartala Government Dental College Tripura Overview
Agartala Dental College was established in July 2023. It is affiliated with Tripura Central University and is one of best dental colleges recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). the college has started with only the Bachelor of Dental Surgery course. The student intake for this year was 70 students as it is the first-ever BDS batch of the dental college. The college campus has been allotted 5 acres of land by the Tripura Government.
The college promises to offer exceptional academic and clinical opportunities for its students. The students will be trained by professional and skilled faculty members so that they grow up to be responsible dentists who can contribute majorly towards the development of the healthcare system in the state of Tripura.

The BDS course is 4 years of academic education along with 1 year of mandatory internship. The eligibility criteria apart from obtaining the qualifying score mark in the NEET-UG entrance examination, are –
- The candidate must have passed their 10+2 board examination.
- The candidate must be a minimum of 17 years of age.
The course of BDS has general basic medical subjects like Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, General Medicine, and General Surgery in the first 3 years. The 4th year has dental-specific subjects like Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Public Health Dentistry. Clinical training starts from the third year of the course.

Agartala Government Dental College has recently come into being. The facilities are yet to be potentially used and operated.
The college has well-furnished lecture theatres and classrooms with a seating capacity of more than 100 students. All the lecture halls have multimedia projectors along with the appropriate audio and visual aids. There is CCTV surveillance around the college campus.

The college has very good hostel facilities that are separate for both boys and girls providing a safe and secure environment for all the students.. The hostel has the provision of a mess that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hostels are equipped with all proper services around the clock. There is a canteen on the campus for other food preferences and options. The cafeteria provides fresh and hygienic food according to different tastes and perceptions.
Besides all the academic facilities, the construction of a big playground is going on. The college wants to encourage the students by offering the best extracurricular facilities for them.
