Direct Admission to Sharad Pawar Dental College Wardha

Hola Guys! Is Sharad Pawar Dental College & Hospital, Wardha, where you are interested? Well! I must say that it’s a wonderful choice for pursuing your dental career. SPDCH is one of India’s most reputed dental colleges, established in 1991. It is 33 years old and is stated as one of the best dental colleges nationwide. The Dental Council of India recognizes it and is affiliated with the eminent Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (DMIHER), deemed-to-be-university.

Regarding academics, SPDCH offers a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and, a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). Additional fellowship courses and PhD in Dentistry in various disciplines are available in the institute. Every year 100 students are enrolled there for BDS and 36 seats are available for masters. The academic curriculum is strictly followed and is designed in the best interest of the students. I have collected some excellent reviews from students whom we have helped to enroll there. They stated that they have had great exposure to patients and research programs. The faculty who teach there are widely focused on matching the modern standards of dental medicine.

The college is managed by DMIHER, along with many other institutes established on the same campus. The campus is huge and is constructed over more than 100 acres of land. I was truly impressed by the giant infrastructure of the institute when I visited it a year back. The dental hospital is well-equipped for all the programs run over there. Additionally, I have observed that the dental college alone has a good student-to-patient ratio. Dental treatments are efficiently catered to the patients at a minimal cost, considering the need for consistent patient exposure for its students.

Along with the impressive infrastructure of the SPDCH, lies two famous medical colleges in the same vicinity. The Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Wardha (JNMC), and the Datta Meghe Medical College, Wardha (DMMC) are located at a walkable distance from the dental college. Why they are significant is because they have a tremendous patient flow throughout the day. I was fortunate to visit both medical colleges at the end of the day. Believe it or not, it gave me an impression of a government medical college when I entered the OPD. Hence, both medical colleges are major contributing factors to the unmatchable patient flow of SPDCH.

Apart from that, SPDCH has wonderful classrooms, AI-enabled lecture theatres, a grand library, a live organ museum, vast playgrounds, and beautifully maintained gardens surrounding the area. Girls’ and boys’ hostels are present within the same campus. Mess and cafeterias are well built and are quite hygienic. Fortunately, a kind college authority also requested me to try the food in the cafeteria. Honestly! The food was great and you also get to choose food options from a very thoughtfully designed menu. There are nearby eateries and shops where you can savor the local cuisine and purchase your day-to-day articles respectively.

How to Reach Sharad Pawar Dental College, Wardha?

It is appropriate to say that the DMIHER is one of the main reasons behind the popularity of Wardha, which is otherwise a small town located 84 km from Nagpur. The area is however safe and easily commutable from anywhere. You can reach through all kinds of public transport.

I, however, had to travel by air to Nagpur Airport from Bangalore. You will get all kinds of transport services outside the airport. I booked an Ola Cab that cost me around 2k back then! It took me approximately one and a half hours to reach the college campus. I passed through green farmlands and multiple small villages on my way. Indeed, it was a great travel experience for me!

I also came to learn about the nearby bus services and railway stations which are just 3-4 km away from the college. A few students told me, they commonly use the local bus services to travel on week-ends. Apart from that auto-rickshaws are also available to reach out to the nearby markets and are affordable for students.

Finally, I feel I have shared a good amount of information about the SPDCH, Wardha. However, an overview to filter out the main highlights of the college will be more helpful. So, find it here!

Admission Process to  Sharad Pawar Dental College

The dental admission process for both the Bachelor’s & Master’s courses at Sharad Pawar Dental College, Wardha is carried out by the Medical Counseling Committee of India. You must register for the NEET counselling conducted by them if you are interested in admitting yourself to BDS or MDS.

The NEET counselling process for both BDS and MDS involves 6-7 steps. You must complete each step to be eligible for admission at SPDCH, Wardha. Here are the steps that you have to go through during the NEET counselling.

  • Online Registration.
  • Registration Fees Payment.
  • Security Deposit Payment.
  • Choice-filling & Locking.
  • Allotment and Results.
  • Reporting and Verification.

Online Registration involves filling out the NEET application form. Carefully enter all your details such as name, address, phone number, e-mail ID, etc. Additional information such as your 12th marks for UG counseling and past dental college records for MDS counseling needs to be filled. As, you enter your information, try to eliminate any errors. So, be very focused and aware as you proceed ahead!

The registration charges for both NEET UG and PG counselling are Rs. 5000/- and another amount of Rs. 2,000,00/- has to be paid as the security fee. Its only after you pay the security deposit you will be eligible for the subsequent rounds of the counselling. The security fee is refundable and is released by the MCCI after the complete counselling process is concluded. However, you must be cautious and use a good internet connection during such payments to prevent errors. Stuck payments are one of such common errors that happen with students! Additionally, you must also be aware that in certain scenarios the MCCI doesn’t refund the security fees. In case you want to learn about them and prevent such problems feel free to reach out to us!

The third step is the choice-filling round followed by choice-locking. The MCCI will announce the dates and you have to follow the schedule. In my experience, this round is conducted for 4-5 days. Students can enter the preferred dental college, course, and specialty on the same web portal. However, you must ensure certain factors about your choice of interest before you add them. Factors such as education quality, location, alumni experiences, facilities available, and most importantly the recognition of the college. The daily OPD is another crucial factor you must assess before joining anywhere. After all practice makes a man perfect! So, more patients will help you develop more skills as a dental practitioner.

Soon the results will arrive online in a day or two after the choice filling is over. Once results are announced you must gear up for the last step which is document verification.

The allotted students have to report to the designated nodal center for medical examination and document verification. It is mandatory for everyone to appear physically and report to the authorities. You must carry both original and photocopies of all documents!

Once your verification is done, you will receive the admission confirmation letter and your counseling process ends here!

The NEET UG or PG counseling is commonly conducted in 4-5 rounds till the seats are vacant across various dental colleges. Your allotment also depends on the seat availability in your specific institute. Students often get confused regarding which round to participate to gain the best benefit. We have been guiding aspirants like you every year. Hence, if you are looking for guidance regarding the same you can enquire with us any day!
