Direct Admission to Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College & Hospital

Hola Everyone! Are you looking for dental admission to Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital? It’s one of the best dental institutes in India and has three well-known campuses in Maharashtra. The first and oldest campus is BVDU, Pune, while the other two colleges are established in Navi Mumbai and Sangli. All three colleges are affiliated with Bharati Vidyapeeth, deemed-to-be University.

The first campus, BVDU, Pune, is one of the most preferred dental colleges among dental aspirants. It is almost 36 years old and holds the 36th position in the NIRF ranking for dental colleges. It offers both Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in all nine disciplines. The college has a well-built infrastructure with all the necessary tools and technologies to support dental students.

The dental college and hospital have a regular patient flow, which allows the students to practice different treatment modalities. The faculty at BVDU is highly experienced and dedicated to academic excellence. Additional facilities include a research wing, practical laboratories, lecture theaters, auditoriums, a library, a sports complex, a gym, a cafeteria, and hostels.

The outlook and administration of the BVDU, Dental College, of Navi Mumbai and Sangli campuses are similar. These dental colleges have good infrastructure, facilities, and wonderful teaching faculty. The dental college in Navi Mumbai is 21 years old, and the Sangli campus was established 20 years ago.

Students from all three campuses gave great reviews about patient flow, dental practice, learning experience, and exposure to modern dentistry. Both BDS and MDS courses are available on both campuses. However, post-graduation in all nine branches is only available in the Pune BVDU dental college.

So, for your easier understanding and comparison, I have added the overview of all three dental colleges of BVDU below! You can go through it and plan your BDS or MDS admission to either of the campuses.

Admission Process to Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College & Hospital

Previously, I mentioned that Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College is affiliated with Bharati Vidyapeeth (deemed-to-be)  University. Hence, the admission process for both BDS and MDS courses in BVDU Dental College is held by the Medical Counseling Committee of India (MCCI). The counseling for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses involves 6-7 steps, which are as follows:

  • Application Process
  • Payment of Registration Fee
  • Payment of Security Deposit Fee
  • Choice-filling
  • Choice-Locking
  • Results
  • Document Verification

Application Process

The first and most important step in the NEET counseling process is registration. This is how you will enter the counseling, and you must fill out the MCC registration form online. Although basic details are required, such as registered phone number, e-mail ID, name, address, etc., we suggest you be careful while creating your first login. This information, once entered, cannot be changed. So ensure that you have entered the correct credentials during the application process. Additional information, such as past school records (name and address of school), and 10th and 12th marks are also sought from students applying for NEET UG counseling. Likewise, MDS students have to feed their past BDS college and mark records. So, organize all the necessary documents before you sit for the registration process.

Payment of Registration Fee

When you complete your form, a registration fee payment marks the completion of the process. You must note that this registration fee will not be refunded. The information you have added to the form will be considered final. So, revise the form once again before you pay the registration fee. The registration fee for both UG and MDS counseling is Rs. 5000/- and must be paid online.

Payment of Security Deposit Fee

Following the registration process, your next action is to become eligible to participate. A mere form fill-up does not make you eligible for complete counseling. You have to pay another fee, called the security fee deposit. The MCC counseling security fee is Rs. 2,00,000/- for UG and MDS courses. This is mandatory for every NEET participant. However, this fee is refunded back after the completion of the entire counseling process.

There are certain circumstances when students won’t receive this money back. In case you want to be aware of such situations, you can approach us anytime!

Choice-Filling

Once you pay the security deposit, you will participate in the option entry round. You must add your college and course choices during this step. A NEET UG aspirant must choose BDS as the course to get admitted into dental colleges. Further, you must add your college preferences. MDS aspirants have to select a speciality as well.

Choice-Locking

Choice-Filling and Choice-Locking processes go hand-in-hand. Once you have completed the filling of choices, you must lock them. Post which no changes can be made! Hence, here is a little advice for you!

Before this round, do thorough research about the institutes of interest. Especially, regarding the patient flow, hidden fee structure, alumni experiences, infrastructure, communication, and dental practices. This will help you gauge the type of academic exposure in the dental college. Dentistry is progressing at a rocket speed! So, learning only basic skills won’t be very beneficial to you in the future. Modern practices and awareness about technological advances are important to secure your future as a dental practitioner in the coming time!

Results

After 2-3 days of the previous round, the MCCI usually announces the results. Here you can check your allotment status and proceed to the last and final step. However, if you don’t get an allotment, you can continue to participate in the subsequent counseling rounds. Or, if you are not satisfied with your results, you can try again.

Document Verification

The final step of the NEET UG and MDS counseling process is the document verification round. Note that, if you want to confirm your admission, it is mandatory to appear physically for this round. Failure to do so will lead to seat cancellation. You have to report to the designated college authorities to confirm your admission.

Allotted students have to visit the college with all the mandatory documents. You must carry all the original copies of these documents, plus 2-3 sets of photocopies. Once your reporting procedure is over, you will be handed your admission confirmation letter. This marks the completion of your admission process at BVDU Dental College!

The annual BDS tuition fee at Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College & Hospital ranges between Rs. 4,50,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/-, depending upon the campus you are admitted to. The former tuition fee applies to the BVDU, Sangli campus, while the latter fee structure is offered in both the Pune and Navi Mumbai campuses of BVDU. You can also expect a yearly tuition fee increment as you advance in the BDS course.

The MDS tuition fee structure for non-clinical branches is Rs. 9,50,000/- yearly. On the other hand, the tuition fee is Rs. 13,65,000/-  per annum for all the clinical branches. The MDS fee structure is uniform for all three dental colleges of BVDU.
