The Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies (IDST) was established in the year 2000. This college was founded by Late Padamshree Dr L.K. Gandhi. The college offers both undergraduate (BDS) and postgraduate (MDS) courses in Dental Surgery. 

The college is well equipped with the latest transitions in the field of dentistry and also with experienced teaching staff who are professionals in their own respective departments. 

The college houses students from different regions and backgrounds of the country.

IDST has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow which guarantees a thorough and inclusive academic substructure. 

It is a Private dental college approved by The Dental Council Of India (DCI).

The college offers a BDS course of 5 years i.e. 4 years of BDS plus 1 year of rotary internship. The students are taught Basic Sciences, Pre-clinical techniques, and Laboratory procedures in the first 2 years. 

The 3rd and the 4th year of this professional course provide the students with clinical training on patients in clinics in different departments, along with Community and Field training procedures.

The BDS fee structure is 3.86 lakhs per year + 85,000 per year for hostel and food, officially. But they will reduce their fees to Rs.2.5 lakhs for students depending on the demand – including hostel and food.

The college also offers an MDS course of 3 years in the following departments :

  • Oral Medicine and Radiology.
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Oral Pathology.
  • Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics.

Facilities and Infrastructure

IDST has its general Medical hospital adjacent to the Dental College and Hospital on campus. The general hospital has a blood bank operational 24/7. 

The dental college has an Auditorium where all the conferences and training programs are conducted. The dental college also has a Simulation Laboratory that allows the students of 1st and 2nd year to achieve an idea of clinical practices.  

It has a library filled with numerous books, articles, and journals which helps students to gain the maximum amount of knowledge. The library also has a section called the Digital library that provides access to all sorts of relevant information on all the subjects.

The college has excellent hostel facilities separately for boys and girls providing a secure environment for all. It also has a mess that offers breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner.

The hostels are rigged with all the required services around the clock. It also houses a cafeteria on campus available with a good menu. 

Apart from the academic facilities, the college also has its own playground for Cricket, Football and Volleyball. There is also an indoor set-up for Badminton and Table tennis.
