Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) started with an intake of 50 undergraduate (BDS) students, later increased to 100 by the Dental Council of India (DCI) in 2011. 

Recognized by the Dental Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, KIDS received approval from DCI to commence its postgraduate course (MDS) in eight specialties in 2014 and in all nine specialties from 2017.

The course provides Master’s in all the 9 departments as follows: Oral Medicine and Radiology, Public Health Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Oral Pathology, Oral and maxillo-facial surgery, Pedodontics, Conservative and Endodontics, Department of Orthodontics, Department of Periodontics.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Bhubaneswar in order to facilitate the well being of the students an anti-ragging is present to see that no student faces any problem and if so such incidents can be brought to the notice of the committee. With the vision to promote extracurricular activities the campus has one of the largest in-campus stadiums, an indoor stadium and other 10 sports facilities. Sports like volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, carrom are played.

For Health benefits a 12 station multigym is present and a yoga centre. A 300 seater Audi is available that is fully air conditioned and well equipped. To organise any sort of function it has an LCD projector,acoustics, a stage with podium and superior quality sound effects. Events such as seminars, workshops, conferences and cultural events are held here. 

Knowledge is imparted to students through lectures. So to facilitate learning, lecture halls are provided. These lecture halls are provided with LCD projectors and sound systems. These lecture halls are for all the BDS and MDS students. The campus has around 10-15 food courts that serve various kinds of cuisines for all. Adjoining canteens/mess are available next to the hostels. There are separate hostels for both girls and boys.

These hostels are within the campus and provide mess service as well. The campus provides various bank services including Nationalised and Private banks for easy access.
